Sister Wives star Christine Brown revealed her past sex life with ex-husband Kody Brown lacked “real emotion,” calling it cold and disconnected.
Reality TV bombshell alert! Christine Brown, one of reality TV’s most talked-about stars of the hit TLC series Sister Wives, is now able to reflect on the gaps she felt in her dynamic with Kody, especially when it came to intimacy. If you thought their relationship was awkward on-screen, just wait until you hear about their relationship off-screen.
“It wasn’t a real true intimacy,” she stated. “I wasn’t taken care of emotionally, romantically, physically, financially, or anything. I was so independent at that point.”
And while Christine had once felt “taken care of” by Kody physically, the 53-year-old, who has since found love again with David Woolley, said that went in a different direction by the end of that relationship.
As for what it felt like for her? “Just an act,” she said. “No real emotion behind it or anything.”
At the time, Christine, who is currently only married to Robyn Brown after her breakups with Christine, Meri Brown, and Janelle Brown, said she felt “used, apathetic. Like, ‘I guess we just kind of have to.'” about sex with Kody.
By the time she decided to sever ties and end her spiritual marriage to Kody in 2021, her marriage was “so broken.”
“We weren’t talking about it,” she added. But Christine made some effort at fixing the relationship before she concluded that things had gone too far.
And even though it wasn’t until almost ten years later when Christine drove the final nail, she first observed this change in the dynamic when Kody married Robyn in 2014, stating, “It was so nearly over anyway.”
As for Kody? Well, he hasn’t taken much to respond publicly to Christine’s remark, but we can imagine he is likely brushing his famous lion’s mane in frustration.
Within the last couple of years, Kody’s spiritual marriages with Meri and Janelle have also ended, meaning Robyn is the only one left with a hold on him, and some say even that was the equivalent of hanging by a thread.
Christine’s story is amusing, sincere, and strangely relatable for anyone who has ever felt trapped in a relationship where feelings aren’t mutual. She is living proof that it’s possible to remove yourself from an emotionally vacuous situation, even when it’s being televised to millions.
